Jacqui Lewis Instagram – I come from a military family. My father and Uncle Gus served in the Air Force. That’s Dad with his sister Elnora and his mother Gertrude who we called Mama Gertrude.
My brave and handsome brother Gen Ron Lewis was an Army helicopter pilot.
Thankfully both my father and my brother served without having to sacrifice their lives; but Dad ultimately succumbed to ALS-an Air Force disease.
This #MemorialDay as we enjoy our barbecues and days off, may we think about the cost of war, and those brave Americans who put their lives on the line for us. May we ask ourselves what war is worth lives lost? May we work towards more peace.
