We have to remember that the Bible is a historical and political text written through the lens of the culture of the time period it was written in. The six texts that seem to condemn queerness are no more relevant today than the texts that forbid us from eating pork– and I know MANY a Christian who is not ready to give up their barbecue ribs at the cookout 😉. We have to stop using outdated texts to justify hate and exclusion.
