For the love of white paint !!! This kitchen at our beach house was not ideal when we bought it, but neither was a renovation so I’ve had to get crafty to make it feel more “me”. I wanted everything in this house to feel calm, cool & reflect the colors of the beach. The pale green vintage @etsy oyster plates were the anchor vision for this space. Having something that keeps you centered in design & life is always crucial . We hired someone to paint, then the rest (and prep) was all on us . Removed the upper cabinets replaced the sink, light fixtures, oven, cooktop & hardware. YouTube can literally show you how to do this all but my sister @hillbarnardowen is better. Last step was filling in everything with beautiful @williamssonoma china & glassware in soft greens . I love taking what I’ve got and seeing what I can do with it. This place is my therapeutic getaway- my tangible reminder that any dark thing can become the light 🤍. Get chickens , plant jasmine- consider this a must. It’s truly unreal how fast & dirty the coop gets & it smells realllll ripe when the sun is out. Jasmine not only gives off the best perfume but it is full coverage greenery year round which creates a nice umbrella of green on the coop. Sometimes you can quite literally turn s*%# into roses y’all. #chickens #chickencoop #backyardchickens

Kitchen tour part II : organization. You can’t cook well in a dirty kitchen & you can’t function in dysfunction. The first step to getting your life together is getting your spaces together – trust me, I’m well versed in this . Kitchen organization is pretty basic to me. Keep everything you’re going to be cooking with near where you cook, organized where you’re likely to grab it. That’s it y’all, don’t overthink this. I keep kids things where kids can grab them because A.) they aren’t attractive at all & I don’t want them on display and B.) I’m trying to teach independence, not dependency. Bonus of this all is that cleaning & organizing is extremely therapeutic & great for mental health. You have time- stop making excuses & do it, then maintain it for yourself.
