@mchandlermather and I are hosting this forum to discuss the fight back against escalating political attacks on migrant communities in Australia, like Labor’s proposed new anti-refugee bill, which will endanger the lives of asylum seekers.
Both parties have been making moves to scapegoat migrants for a housing crisis caused by the big banks and property investors driving up rents and house prices for the rest of the country.
In a country like Australia, we should be proud of multicultural and migrant communities, but Labor and the Liberals want to demonise migrants and use them to distract from their own failings. We can’t let them win.
We’ll also be joined by Remah Naji from Justice for Palestine and Rita Jabri-Markwell from the Australian Muslim Advocacy Network – two incredible women you’ll want to hear from!
