On June 7th 2024, Platoon releases ‘Revolución diamantina: an album of orchestral works by Mexican composer Gabriela Ortiz,’ performed by the LA Phil (@laphil) and Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel (@gustavodudamel). The album includes Ortiz’s new violin concerto, ‘Altar de cuerda,’ performed by María Dueñas (@mariaduenasviolin). As part of LA Phil’s European Tour, Maria performs the work in Paris tonight @philharmoniedeparis and at London’s @Barbicancentre on June 2nd. ‘Altar de cuerda’ is available now on all streaming platforms. Welcome to the Vinyl-of-the-month series! This same month a year ago my first Album Beethoven and Beyond came out. One day before playing the Beethoven Concerto at Musikverein for the recording, I found myself looking through vinyls and founding this recording by chance. Beethoven Concerto with Zukerman, Barenboim and Chicago. What a great source of inspiration. I felt so grateful for having the opportunity to present my own interpretation of Beethoven to the world on this same yellow label🙏🏻 Happy listening!
