From the moment my feet hit the ground I felt the consciousness. 100% of the electricity used in Geneva comes from renewable energy sources, with residents given price discounts for reducing their electricity consumption. Over 10 years, Geneva’s power consumption has decreased by more than 20% as a result. So smart. One minute into my first conversation with the hotel we were already talking about their Director of Sustainability and I couldn’t help but think how incredible it is this position even exists within a hotel! Carbon neutrality is their goal, and they proudly told me they reached a record 80% recycling of all waste this year. You can see it. You can feel it. They even use lake water to cool the air.
