I have been dreaming of this trip for a decade and after a year of planning and organizing with @myswitzerland , it’s finally here. Switzerland Tourism asked me to join them to explore this gorgeous country, documenting their sustainability initiatives and ways to navigate this entire region with a smaller footprint and bigger impact aka, Swiss-tainable travel! I will be highlighting the country’s unparalleled approach to low footprint tourism and everyday living, getting to know the farmland while documenting the intimate connection between farm and restaurant throughout different regions, and using the Swiss travel pass to go from train to ferry as I trek across the country with two cubs on my back. What an honor to see this gorgeous part of the world through the lens of sustainability…pun intended! Ps To all the lovely people who watched with compassion as I wrestled a tiny bear cub who was determined to move about the airplane cabin on all fours, thank you for your kindness. This tired (and very excited) mama is ready to explore :)!

I cannot wait to see what 2024 has in store for you. I’m forever proud of all of your dreams and achievements, cheering you on and watching as that brilliant mind of yours pulls ideas out of the stars and turns them into pure gold✨This is YOUR year, I can feel it! Happy Father’s Day Papa! These babies love their favorite guy so much!
Feeling deeply called to explore other areas of the world with a strong connection to sustainability and soil. Switzerland has always spoken to me on a soul level. From the innovation used to position themselves as true leaders of sustainability, to the endless miles of regenerative farmland, I have been fascinated and inspired by this way of living that seems more intertwined with the animals that graze, the trains that transport and the land that feeds this beautiful country. See you soon, I cannot wait! 🌱🇨🇭🌏 Photo by @samidrasin at the beautiful @thewayinn_ojai
Is this even real? I woke up feeling like I was in a dream. Just three days in this magical village would make anyone want to stay forever. From the picturesque mountains tucked behind rolling hills sprinkled with chalets, to the sweet community park that was also home to wildflowers, copper and wood toys, goats, donkeys and a tortoise maze, to the free roaming cattle, you can feel the seamless blend of luxury and sustainability here in Gstaad🥀🌿

One of my favorite photos ever, totally unplanned. It was 6am. Not a single peep, pun intended, apart from the little red bird right in front of me. Can you see her? I couldn’t help but think of something a girlfriend said to me once. You’ve got to leave a little room for magic. There she was, right in front of me. Magic.🎈🐦⬛
First stop, Geneva and the @beaurivagegeneve . From the moment my feet hit the ground I felt the consciousness. 100% of the electricity used in Geneva comes from renewable energy sources, with residents given price discounts for reducing their electricity consumption. Over 10 years, Geneva’s power consumption has decreased by more than 20% as a result. So smart. One minute into my first conversation with the hotel we were already talking about their Director of Sustainability and I couldn’t help but think how incredible it is this position even exists within a hotel! Carbon neutrality is their goal, and they proudly told me they reached a record 80% recycling of all waste this year. You can see it. You can feel it. They even use lake water to cool the air. Only 24 hours on the ground and already my mind is blown… @myswitzerland

Starting this incredible journey with @flyswiss , learning about the massive (and impressive) steps they are taking to create a more sustainable way of travel. My mind was blown. Sustainability is an integral part of their corporate strategy with ambitious CO2 reduction targets. Their overall goal is a 50% reduction of net emissions by 2030 for in air operations, with fuel efficiency already improved by 28% since 2003. Ah! They also embrace technology as a way to improve planning and control of flight operations which in turn reduces 80,000 tons of CO2 per year thanks to their operations efficiency initiatives. Of course the key to more sustainable flying and what I was MOST excited about is SAF, Sustainable Aviation Fuel, which are fuels produced without the use of fossil energy source. SWISS Air is moving towards a future with SAF, which is produced from biogenic waste such as used cooking oils and waste fats/lipids, which would make SWISS the world’s first airline to use fuel from biogenic waste, created with solar! I was also so impressed by their desire to reduce single use plastic and single use aluminum on the flight. Wow!!! What an inspiring way to fly! ✈️🌱🌏
Gearing up, quite literally, for an opportunity of a lifetime. It’s been a long time since I have been on the road. Companies and babies have kept me grounded in one place but it’s time to pull up these roots and boots to combine a few of my favorite things; sustainability, culture, photography, mountains, architecture, farms and food – all while documenting ways we can reduce the environmental impact of travel. Any guesses? Will you follow along with me? Fun fact: I spent quite a bit of time in this region in my early 20’s :)!
