Ruthie Ann Miles Instagram – HUGE THANK YOUs to the small group of magic makers who made this Memorial Day as meaningful and special as it was fun and, well, memorable. It was a privilege to sing our National Anthem once again at our Nation’s Capitol for @pbs.
In this @memdaypbs program we celebrated and remembered our military service men and women & their families for their sacrifice and commitment to serve our country in fighting for our freedom, both domestic & abroad. We paid special tribute to and mourned with our Gold Star Families, who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. What an honor and privilege to sing for them.
I had the special honor of singing to and for fellow Kama’aina, Vietnam War Veteran and Gold Star Father Sergeant Allen Hoe and his living son Sergeant Nakoa Hoe, as we remembered their fallen son/brother, Army 1st Lieutenant Nainoa Hoe. It was a very emotional evening for us all.
