When Shannon first described the injury and showed me x-rays of her shoulder, I just knew. She didn’t even need to tell me, I just knew with years I have followed and covered this sport that you simply do not return from this. That’s the conventional wisdom anyway.
Yet here we are. With the resiliency of a lioness and the audacity that comes with it.. she returns to the ring. The road to recovery was long and happened inside a dark tunnel, and it seemed like that tunnel was never-ending… Almost a year and half post surgery there is the light. Wrap em up. Lace em up. We still got a few more rounds to go.
