If you told me a year ago that I would go off the grid in Tennessee, turn in my phone, make 40 new friends, and ugly cry with six strangers for five days straight in therapy camp, I would have belly laughed in your face. Little did I know pure magic was waiting on the other side of hubris and fear. What I experienced on that 270-acre campus outside of Nashville is—outside of becoming a mom—the single most transformative experience of my life. @experienceonsite created an extraordinarily safe environment to tap into the full spectrum of the human experience: profound sorrow and deep relief, resistance and bravery, heartache and heart-awe. Over the course of our five days together, friends and acquaintances became kin. They taught me how to hold space for others and allow others to hold space for me. I learned how to be a better parent, partner and communicator. This collective showed me the power of community healing, and they showed my inner child how it feels to be wholly, deeply seen. The magical humans I shared this sacred experience with are the sparkliest souls I’ve ever met, a testament to the discernment of our hosts @alliebridge, @johnpritchard and @thejeanniemai. These people – this place – changed my life. It’s hard to believe I tiptoed into this experience so anxious, guarded and skeptical. I’m leaving with wings. 📷: @jeremycowart

@bumoparent knows how to work hard and parent hard! Thank you @joan.bumo and @chrisellelim for the treat that was moderating this panel on modern motherhood. The first page of @maekramer’s book Carry Strong says, “You can do it all, not at the same time, and not alone.” What follows is an empowered approach to navigating pregnancy and work. Recommended reading for anyone considering a family and career 💪🏽 Photos by: @kgillphoto
