Zali Stegall Instagram – It’s world refugee day! This years theme, “Finding Freedom”, highlights the importance of family and community to the refugee experience. The community refugee sponsorship initative connects refugee newcomers to existing community members, so that they can both support each other in challenging times.
Pictured is the Alkhusi’s, a refugee family who were forced to flee Afghanistan, but have found solace and belonging through community sponsorship. In Warringah, we have the @manlygees, a local group of volunteers helping refugee families settle in.
