Caption : Happy 10th anniversary to #PitchPerfect! I know some of you think that Iām in the first movie too (not just 2 & 3). And thatās partly because I photoshop myself into pics (like this one) but mostly because I tell everyone I was. The truth is when Pitch Perfect came out in 2012, I was still waiting tables and hustling hard. I remember taking myself to the movies (AMC in the Burbank Town Center to be exact), but not before stopping at PF Changs (where I once worked) to eat some crab wontons (cause I still got 25% off). I laughed and cried watching these hilarious and talented girls ācrush itā on the big screen, hoping to one day be in a movie like THAT! I was inspired and filled with joy. These movies, especially this first one, mean so much to so many. I know this because Iām one of the many! I met the few relatives we still have there, whom Iāve only ever spoken to through WhatsApp. They treated me with such love, kindness, and care. It was like Iād known them all my life. Thankfully, the woman who now lives in my familyās old home (pictured here) was happy to give us a tour inside. While the house has changed and deteriorated with time, I can still picture where my grandfather played dominos on the front porch and where the Christmas tree was set each year ā in front of the three columns in the living room, now partially blocked by new stairs. Caption : While in Cuba, I visited the town where the Fit family was from, Guanabacoa. I met the few relatives we still have there, whom Iāve only ever spoken to through WhatsApp. They treated me with such love, kindness, and care. It was like Iād known them all my life. Thankfully, the woman who now lives in my familyās old home (pictured here) was happy to give us a tour inside. While the house has changed and deteriorated with time, I can still picture where my grandfather played dominos on the front porch and where the Christmas tree was set each year ā in front of the three columns in the living room, now partially blocked by new stairs. I only cried like, five times. Picture Descriptions: 1 & 2. The Fit Family Home – Where my grandfather, grandmother, dad, uncle, great grandfather, great grandmother, great aunts, and great uncle lived (a total of 9 Fits!). 3. The living room 4.
