I made this gentle giant drink my herbal tea from tiny tea cups every night:-) It is even easier to act with him. He made sure his physiotherapist mobilized my body before his own, during the action sequences, so I don't get hurt. Jaideep told me I have to develop muscle. I started strength training a year ago. Tillotama Shome Instagram - This trip to Amsterdam was so weird and yet warm. I was so sick, that all I saw of it, was from a bed, looking out of the window for 6 days. On the 7th day I was able to walk and the sun came out to celebrate. Charu kept pace with my slow walk, let me talk to the flowers, had some good coffee, and played a deck building game called Slay the spire. We met after a decade, she nursed me back to health and time had not blunted the love in the slightest. So lucky to have such a friendship. Happy Sunday to All.

Tillotama Shome Instagram - Good /bad Long/ShortĀ  Tamable/UnmanageableĀ  Too little /Too much Glossy/Ā  Dull Purity/Loss Privelege/Protest The narrative around hair and womanhood is mired indeep history and politics of class, caste, power, culture, religion....I know it's a signifier of many things that have been used to control and to disrupt. But what does it have to do with me? This is the second time I walked away from an infuriatingly regressive situation at work and my instinct was to shave a part of my hair off. And both times i felt an immediate sense of freedom. I have been told repeatedly that hair like this will limit my choices at work as an 'Indian woman'. Are we not already working in a very limiting situation? This is not to be edgy, bold, wild etc , it's an instinct to feel lighter and not succumb to some notion of viability as an actor. My hair can grow back, it's in the public space unlike my ovaries but it's also personal and changeable. So chal yaar , I cut my hair and wore the brightest colour I had and went and saw five beautiful films.

It is nothing short of a miracle for an Indian indie film with no institutional, financial or emotional support from the country, to make it this big. How were the films funded, how difficult was it complete the film in that budget, oh and how did the actors put together the money to fly to Cannes, so they could bring home the prize, that we are so proud of? Tillotama Shome Instagram - This morning, the woman who takes care of us and our home, shared the plight of the women and kids where she stays. Her intolerance for alcohol is born out of the violence she sees daily. Wives are forced to have sex, drunk husbands who can't differentiate between the wife and the daughter, the daughters who today can look at a smart phone and find out the most effective way to die by poisoning. "We did not have cell phones to check in our days, the best way to die" Progress. Chalo. Everyday she gets messages from the school to keep the daughters at home, not let them go out alone and to tell the sons to not rape. More progress. ( Ekla cholo , absolutely not) Her words begin to swirl in my head. We both just sit down on the sofa. Her periods start, early. Mine just come thrice a year now. If men don't change, I am pretty certain women's bodies will mutate. Our reproductive functions will shut down. A new woman will be forced to evolve out of the folly of men. And who knows how understanding, how tolerant, she will be? Or husha husha we all fall down.

But what does it have to do with me? This is the second time I walked away from an infuriatingly regressive situation at work and my instinct was to shave a part of my hair off. And both times i felt an immediate sense of freedom. I have been told repeatedly that hair like this will limit my choices at work as an 'Indian woman'. Are we not already working in a very limiting situation? This is not to be edgy, bold, wild etc , it's an instinct to feel lighter and not succumb to some notion of viability as an actor. My hair can grow back, it's in the public space unlike my ovaries but it's also personal and changeable. So chal yaar , I cut my hair and wore the brightest colour I had and went and saw five beautiful films.

Everyday she gets messages from the school to keep the daughters at home, not let them go out alone and to tell the sons to not rape. More progress. I later found out that she has lost both her parents. I was so moved by her.
