Alan Ritchson Instagram – The lotus is a symbol of purity. Its colorful blossoms erupt from the mud like an insatiable spark of hope. A welcome reminder that life isn’t just possible in the muck and mire, it can thrive there. Flowers grow in the silt.
My wife, @catritchson ‘s name means ‘pure.’ And that she is – to an inspiring degree. As I’ve endeavored to find images that reflect the namesakes of my boys, some have asked about a tattoo for Cat. This is her image. She’s the flower, I’m undoubtedly the mud.
Lastly, as a spiritually minded person, the most ravagingly dark moments of my life are when I’ve felt God shouting the loudest.
The lotus reminds me of the many forms mercy and grace have taken and the many ways they’ve given birth to hope in my small corner of the universe.
