Andrew Gillum Instagram – I’m privileged to share the greatness that is North Carolina Representative @vernettaalston for today’s #womenshistorymonth feature.

Vernetta is a native of Durham, North Carolina and grew up in Cary. She attended North Carolina State University for undergraduate school and received a J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

A member of @nbjconthemove Good Trouble Network, Vernetta is an attorney and has worked with the North Carolina Center on Death Penalty Litigation for over five years. While working at the Center, she served as co-counsel for Henry McCollum, who was exonerated after spending thirty years in prison due to a wrongful conviction.

This past session, Vernetta introduced legislation to increase minimum wage, expand health services for women, and to address food insecurity around the State.

Thank you for all that you do, Representative!
Andrew Gillum Instagram – So proud of @garychambersjr for how he’s running his campaign to be the next Louisiana Senator. A rising tide lifts all boats, and Gary’s rejection of zero-sum politics is exactly what we need in this moment. Full episode out on @quakemedia & @applepodcasts. Show link in bio.
