About to play our final Resurrection Letters show: Easter Monday in Nashville. A seven-year tradition that I hope continues until I’m old and gray(er). So thankful for this band and crew. So thankful for @braggmanagement and @25artistagency and all the venues and crowds. Thankful that we got home in time for church yesterday. Thankful for my wonderful family who gathered for the feast. There’s much more to say but it’s almost showtime and I have to go. He is risen indeed. That’s the wonderful @leifenger up there, reading from his new novel at Nashville’s @parnassusbooks. He’s one of the best writers I’ve ever read, and I’m pausing my current Wendell Berry book to dive into this—which is saying something. Leif’s glimmering stories are made up of sentences that pop like little fireworks, and some of his characters have made a permanent home in my imagination. A new Enger book is cause for celebration. So grateful to get to sing about the resurrection tonight in Russellville, AR at the start of Holy Week. I’ll miss being with my church family in Nashville, but the view from Mt. Nebo is a pretty great consolation.
