So incredibly proud of my BIG sister Annie Barnett, for sharing her story and experience with our hometown community and the world! (Link to full story in bio) I have to admit I have a complicated relationship with social media. I decided to take time away from the platform. But my personal feelings towards social media doesn’t take away from the 100 billion percent support I have towards this vital movement! I concentrated on having tough conversations with family, and friends directly. I thought my silence on social media would make more space for the voices that were RISING UP. I was mistaken in thinking I could JUST use my voice thru conversation, marching and quarantine safe, but direct interaction. As important as that still is…thru getting back on to this platform today I’ve realized how wrong I was! I’m so blown away by the powerful movement happening here as well. A movement outside of the streets and directly into all our pockets. With all our health still a major concern I think the power of this platform has helped in so many ways. I still have many personal issues with social media, but I will do my best to re-evaluate my social media relationship and continue that conversation here! And a huge thank you to my sister Annie for sharing.

From @syesha : They Medically Kidnapped our sun days after he was weaned from my breast. I never went more than two hours without my baby boy and we never left him in the care of strangers, but on March 11th we were forcefully removed from our SUNshine and banned from the hospital Permanently by CPI Officer Danielle McCoy of Manatee County along with other armed police officers. We were forced to leave our baby behind with strangers at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. Manatee County Sheriff’s department claimed, on Fox 13 News Amen’Ra was first placed in a Medical Foster home, however he NEVER was. He was placed in a regular foster. We have PROOF where he went when he was discharged, which by the way they didn’t even notify us when he was discharged. We called the hospital everyday and there were days they could not locate our sun. He was placed in a regular foster home with a white family, bypassing our qualified relative placement, ripping our sun of his culture and the stable and loving environment and world he knew and loved. CPI Officer Danielle McCoy told us the reason for the removal was because we refused a B12 shot, which we didn’t. Listen to the recording of this removal on this page. A false petition and medical report by MD Sally Smith has torn our family apart and created unnecessary trauma. I went to the hospital for assistance during my sun’s weaning process of extended breast feeding to more solids and the bottle. They turned an innocent transition that all breast feeding mama’s go through into a dependency case they documented as medical neglect claiming I abused and neglected the most precious creation of my life. I am so sick to my stomach, but I breath through this pain, that’s like a loss that you just cope with everyday…. That you somehow find ways to keep going. We are standing in truth for you baby boy. We beyond love you Amen’Ra Sba. We know you will be home soon. Our trial date is in November, but we have a CALL TO ACTION to END this
