On July 4th we celebrated our independence and freedom but for many, fireworks bring forth memories of gun violence triggering trauma or echoing horrific moments of past pain and fear.
It’s a tragic truth that guns are the leading cause of death for children in America. And that a majority of Americans have felt the long reach of the nation’s gun violence epidemic in one way or another.
Gun violence is preventable.
America is unique in the pervasive level of gun violence that has shattered the lives of too many.
When kids are worried whether they’re hearing fireworks or gunshots—we have to ask, what will it take to free our communities from the epidemic of gun violence and death?
The answer?
We are the answer.
Our relentless activism, tireless work, and constant demand.
