David Göttler Instagram – Here are some more photos from our recent Nanga Parbat expedition. These are from the lower section of the Schell route, below the ridge at 6000m. In order to avoid the rockfall which started as soon as the sun hit the Rupal face and could be quite intense, we had to do some very early alpine starts. I’m not a huge fan of alpine starts but it’s better to wake up early than to be bowled off the mountain by a rock hurtling at you from above.
