Divina De Campo Instagram – Trigger warning. Rape and SA discussed. This week two prominent politicians have launched attacks against trans people’s rights to bodily autonomy, privacy and freedom. They have cited concerns for women’s safety. They have framed a less than 0.5% population as a danger to women VS the 98% cis male offenders who are not even charged after perpetrating crimes. We have a legal and justice system that has effectively decriminalised SA and Rape. Rather than actually address the issue these cynical politicians deflect and misdirect. Let’s be very clear and attack on anyone’s right to bodily autonomy leads to further attacks on all our rights Roe V wade did not succumb to challenge in a vacuum. There has been much talk about removing rights and freedoms and protections which stem from our human rights charter and the ECHR. Let us be 100% clear these people do not want us to have those rights, freedoms or protections and we have got to push back to stop them.
