This agreement is one I have to remind myself often. It’s from the book The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.
If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it.
For example one of your colleagues overreacts or your boss is suddenly extra critical. Remind yourself not to take it personally.
It’s easy to forget those around us also have situations going on in their lives that might lead them to react in a way we don’t expect or agree with
By repeating this agreement to yourself you free yourself of their opinions and actions. What others say and do is just a projection of their own reality. It has nothing to do with you.
It will allow you to focus on yourself and your actions. Allowing you to stay true to your values and purpose without being affected by others’ opinions and behaviors.
