I remember standings at his table in artist alley with my shitty 7 page portfolio at some convention I can’t remember. he was working on a commission I can’t couldn’t tell at the moment, he was smiling the entire time, never made me feel like I was a bother just watching in awe. he just like, … DREW. didn’t even lay down any pencil linework, guides, NOTHING.
he picked up a brush pen, dotted in one eye then immediately moved to shadows on the face, cheek bones, lips, expressions. I was very confused at what had happened. all I thought was, this man is the devil and I will follow him to hell if could get just 1% of his skills.
