I’m realizing that even though I’ve been Trans my whole life, presented as such from 18-23. The hardest part has been living up to societies idea of what a woman looks like. I’m really good at putting the work in with makeup and style but when it’s all stripped away and I step out of the shower I still see David. I’ve not had time to develop my transition or have my desired modifications which makes me fucking terrified to share the image I currently see in the mirror. • However this is step one of me being honest and hopefully, overtime I’ll feel more comfortable. It’s crazy because I want to work hard on acting and I don’t mind playing male or female roles. Yet in my everyday life, I’m a woman! And I want to be seen as such. I want to be seen as who I am. • With all of the bills being proposed in more than 45 states, it’s hard to not feel scared. While I personally am in a safe space, there are thousands of adult and youth trans / non-binary individuals that are not. Know your worth and Accept Nothing Less! I have been so mean to myself during my transitioning again. I allowed old traumas to dictate my New Reality, I have allowed myself to be used and drained emotionally and Financially because I had to keep the people that love me in my life,happy, in order to deserve that love. That’s not real! That’s called systematic self destruction built off of Religious and small town trauma triggers, which I have outgrown. I have allowed people to manipulate me and convince me that I am worth less than I am, to make themselves feel stronger. It’s me and undergarments, a bra and a corset & I feel like a Goddess! ✨ • Presenting my authentic self as a transgender woman, again…has had its ups and downs. Not just emotionally. As I teach myself how to exist in today’s climate; not only my day time existence but also my job! It’s been scary but moments like this remind me that we support and we have each other. “A midsummer nights dream”I had such a magical evening last night. Ive been very focused on my transition in life, work, and health that I haven’t gotten to pause and reflect on self care. This was a living dream. I’ve never been to the ballet but growing up I dreamed of being a Ballerina and dancer but when taking classes I was too insecure to truly shine. Luckily drag gave me a place to try and feel graceful. However “Center Stage”, one of my all time fave films, made me obsessed with Ballet. I cried last night and gasped at the amazing Costumes and performances. One of the Design Managers of the Ballet @marchappelnyc hooked Mother up with a ticket and I’m so appreciative! So beautiful @david_h_koch_theater and @nycballet
