Ian Nelson Instagram – Your unique VOICE is the core of your business. What do I mean by “voice?” Your voice is many things, but let’s just say for now that your voice is what your business stands for and how you communicate with your customers.
One of the biggest mistakes I see companies make is delegating their voice before they even know what it is.
I also see companies (as they grow) begin to delegate the responsibility of communicating their voice to an external agency who inevitably lose sight of that unique voice and quickly commoditize it until the voice disintegrates into a corporate, bureaucratic haze.
Does your voice need to be scaled for your business to expand? Absolutely. But make sure there is a unique voice there already before you task others with the job of communicating it. And once you choose to delegate it, that doesn’t mean you can take a passive role in autopilot, because ultimately, when you are the CEO, the voice of your business is your responsibility.
