Good people. Yesterday I released the 2nd Single from the KING CURIOUS album. A track called ‘The Hollowman Come’ At its heart it’s a kind of protest song I guess. I don’t know. I’m not good at talking about this stuff. But want to give it some context. Written directly after watching the news back in 2019. My head in a tail spin. Scribbling words and phrases as a way of processing the cacophony of lung tightening madness. My head spins now in the same way it did then. Fukk. Where’s all basic common sense. Have a listen to the track and hit me back. Am truly interested to know what lyrics jump out and resonate on this one. So proud of my wife and all the team behind YELLOW for being shortlisted for this years OSCARS for live action short film !!! What an achievement 💥 YELLOW is the embodiment of what making short films is all about.. and why they can be important. Made with very little money. Raised by the hungry young filmmakers entirely on their own. Some of it out of their own pockets. Because they have a story they need to tell. Short films are a way for the up and comers, for the hungry and the passionate, fighting the odds to get behind a story and to tell it. Not for the acclaimed and the established to flex and impress but for the hopeful, the hopeless and the dreamers. This is a story written and directed by Elham Ehsas that gives a voice to the women in his home country of Afghanistan. It’s power lies in the simplicity and poetry of the film that looks into the heartbreaking plight of what everyday young women face as the country falls back into the hands of the Taliban regime. It’s up against some big hitters this year with big money and big names and so I hope the Academy see past the noise and find this little splash of color amongst all the exploding fireworks. It’s the quiet ones you have to watch out for GOOD LUCK YELLOW – so proud of you for this 💛 @zoradzo @dmousawi @afsanehdeh @yiannis_manolopoulos_dop @yellow.shortfilm x

Big thanks to everyone that came down to the KING CURIOUS Album launch last night It felt mad to sit in the dark and hear the album in full with everyone but good to hear it blast from the speakers and fill the room. Loved getting to hang after and for me and @brownsilla to scribble on some copies at the end of the night Thanks to @pitchblackplayback and @thecastlecinema for hosting the eve and for everyone that took home some vinyl… All the proceeds went to the @delia.arts.foundation – to support the artists and musicians in Gaza and Rafah 🇵🇸 so I appreciate you all digging deep.
