John Simm Instagram – The original 1970 film directed by Michael Lindsay Hogg has been restored and given the Peter Jackson treatment, with the brilliant @mashupmartin working his magic. If, like me, you’ve only seen this on a grainy, VHS bootleg, it’s revelatory, like having a dark veil lifted, It looks and sounds magnificent. After watching ‘Get Back’ (hands down the greatest thing that’s ever been on screen) and seeing the story behind it, this is a truly wonderful watch. It’s joyous. The main focus is the music, and of course you get the whole, uninterrupted rooftop gig, where they definitely “pass the audition”. 🍏
