Marty’s and XRT’s support means the world. Thanks to @clintblack for doing the show with us. Being able to often see friends who live in different parts of the country is one of the great bonuses of touring. I met novelist and journalist Laurence Gonzales in 1996 when he interviewed me for @mensjournal. We became friends initially because of our mutual love of motorcycling. We went riding together with my parents and @chrishainestours in Baja; Laurence spent time with us in Klein. I watched his daughters grow into beautiful adults with families of their own. Here he is Sunday on the steps of my @senatorscoaches bus with his wife, Debbie, and son, Jonas. Deb brought her homemade enchiladas and salsa and El Milagro tortilla chips; Jonas brought the pure joy and enthusiasm only a 21-year-young man can. Laurence filled me in on his latest book.
