Matt Lister Instagram – Happy international day against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia. Well, actually, no it’s not. Especially for those in the UK this week, who are going through yet another last ditch, low blow, desperate, vote grab attempt from a failing Tory government.
The last time this happened, it was section 28. A series of laws put in place that prohibited the ‘promotion of homosexuality’. Laws that damaged and endangered LGBTQ lives across the UK, damage that is still prevalent to this day.
This week, we are seeing a resurgence of this bulls**t as once again, even through different faces and voices, this sham of a conservative government is now banning the teaching around gender identity from the education system. Once again sending the clear message that we are not welcome in our own home. DON’T LISTEN TO THEM. Luckily this generation has access to endless resources to help them navigate a very confusing and challenging time in their lives. Explore who you are, love who you love and be whatever the F**K you want.
