The other surprise was that I left thinking about the batagor (tofu, little spring rolls and crispy wontons in peanut sauce), the tempeh with kremes and their sambals rather than their more famous satay and nasi bungkus Rendang in a leaf/bag – This was a shock to me. Maybe I just want to be Javanese?!
