BTS recipe testing for today’s “new mince” column in @stellarmag for @deliciousaus Crisp rice paper and herbed chicken mince. Spiced lamb mince filo sausage rolls with secret ingredient. Chilli pork mince stuffed buns inspired but Shanghainese sheng jiang bao. The three best discoveries of six ideas. The thin rolled lamb mince, chilled and turned into a take on Turkish Iskender kebap also picture but I reckoned needed way more spicing!

The faces say it all… It’s plain to see who won the drinks challenge at @kedaisatay – the cendol easily over the avocado juice I forced on @karafoodwine The other surprise was that I left thinking about the batagor (tofu, little spring rolls and crispy wontons in peanut sauce), the tempeh with kremes and their sambals rather than their more famous satay and nasi bungkus Rendang in a leaf/bag – This was a shock to me. Maybe I just want to be Javanese?! You’ll find out what Kara thinks in her column in the @heraldsunphoto very soon!
The Greatest of the Mall tour hits @northlandshopping today between 11am and 2pm. It’s not just the chance for a free cream caramel popcorn doughnut and to snare some, what is apparently, “fully sick” merch but also @raphrashid and @danivenn will be there too. It’s all organised by the @melbfoodandwine Festival people. I’ll be there at lunchtime (noon-1pm) , natch! Like they say in the classic, come on down!
