Matthew Santoro Instagram – Day 8 (133) progress check in. Today I didn’t want to go for my daily 12K fasted run. Mentally I wanted a break. 25% into the run it started pouring rain. Completely by myself outside in a city of 3 million people soaking wet I almost turned back, but then I realized those are the exact moments when the money is made. When everyone else is cozy inside having their morning coffee, I’m putting in the work drenched head to toe running in shoes full of rainwater. As I pushed through I suddenly felt a sense of energized freedom that can only be attained when one puts themselves in an uncomfortable situation but becomes comfortable in the discomfort. When I got home the security guard in my building looked at me like he couldn’t believe somebody was outside in that weather. David Goggins calls that taking souls.
