Checking in. How’s everybody feeling?
This week was yet another whirlwind of ups and downs, highlights and heartbreaks. Began the week feeling anxious. Worked my ass off through another 5 days of rehearsals. Got wind of an old friend’s passing. Found out big news about a project I’m a part of. Surfed with my love. Did some thrifting. Had a couple opportunities to share my passion with young aspiring artists. Pushed through some hard thoughts. Went swimming in the ocean under the full moon. And challenged a couple major habits of mine. Now I’m sitting here on this late Monday afternoon taking a deep breath to prepare for what’s next.
Here’s the thing, I care. I care about it all. Everyone I affect. Everything that I do. I care to continuously get better. To show up and be more present everyday. And I gotta tell you sometimes it wears me out.
But all in all I am grateful. Truly. For the people who support me, who love me, who trust me and welcome me into their spaces and projects. For the quick encounters and shared experiences.
Nothing is promised… expect nothing and appreciate everything.
