Sasha Kapadya Instagram – also sorry for spamming but i realised that i also want to tell that recently i performed on a queer standup show at @tipsy_bear_berlin organised by @teracomedy_ . i really like performing on queer standup shows because they always feel supportive as oppose to most regular standup shows that often feel competitive, also i often feel out of place on general shows and it’s only on queer standup where i can feel free to do my weird alternative stuff it feels that often you should prove audience that you worth their laughter while on queer shows people are just vibing and are ready to accept you as who you are. i’m thinking a lot about how more comfortable in my profession i would’ve felt if being openly queer hadn’t been so dangerous in russia and if there had been a developed queer standup scene with more queer standup shows in russia while i was there (there was as far as i know only one such show @queerfemstandup that was under pressure and fled russia last year). if only queer people in russia could openly perform and organise things we would get a very big and wonderful scene filled with talented and funny people. i hope that will happen one day! | Posted on 04/Aug/2023 21:37:16
