Happy Birthday to my beautiful, amazing, funny, talented, smart, HOT, and wonderful wife. She never gives up. She’s incredibly hopeful. She brings out the best in me and I am so lucky to share my life with her. I love you baby bear.
Every Tuesday I am celebrating actors I love! Today I am spotlighting Seamus Dever, an actor I had the pleasure of working with for 8 years on CASTLE, where he played “Det. Kevin Ryan”. But I was familiar with Seamus before that show and have followed his work since, and he always impresses me with his desire for collaboration. He understands that he cannot succeed on his own. He is better when he is supported by other creatives (actors, writers, directors and crew). He is also always ready to crack a joke to keep the mood on a set light. Now Seamus shares some tips with you: #1 – It’s a long game. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. It’s a non linear career about building relationships that may reconnect 10 years, 20 years later. Failures and disappointments may just be seeds that you are planting in a director, producer, writer or casting director’s head. #2 – Don’t stop learning. Learn everything you can about filmmaking. It will make you a better actor. When you are on set, ask questions to the crew if possible. Watch classic films and shows, watch everything that you hear referenced. In our world, film is literature to writers and directors. They know it and use it as points of reference for their work either visually or in story. As an actor, you should know them too. #3 – Don’t talk shit. No one wants to hear if you dislike an actor’s performance, or a director’s movie. It doesn’t make you more interesting to trash someone else’s work. Don’t yuck other people’s yum. It may just not be for you. And you know what? People don’t want to be around people who tear things down. It’s an awful energy. Seamus has a lot more great tips to share with you- KEEP READING IN COMMENTS BELOW! I thought everyone would like to know that I’m having a good hair day.
My adorable wife @cleverdeverwherever and I just went on a road trip with our dogs for a whole month. Here she recreates her old job as a bagger at Dierbergs. So good they offered her a job. Still got it. Isn’t she just adorable?

I was cast as the best friend/antagonist in a movie called Ready or Not back in 2006 and had an unbelievable time with Christian Oliver, Jonathan Murphy, and Evan Helmuth. Christian was one of the producers and somehow him and Sean Doyle and Minor Childers got SAG to allow us to shoot in LA and Mexico and Las Vegas . It was a “bachelor party gone wrong” caper that predated the hangover movies and it was clever and funny. In Hollywood friendships, you always think you’re going to have another shot at working with these great people again but time has a way of altering things. And social media gives you the false feeling that you haven’t actually lost touch with them. So we lost Evan a few years back and now tragically, Christian with his daughters. Such a tragedy. Rest in peace, buddy. You were a great guy.

Here are 10 things you didn’t know about sparkling wine. 1. The most popular sparkling wine is Champagne, which can only be made in the Champagne region of France. But did you know that there are 22 other sparkling wine regions in France? 2. Sparkling wine was invented in England in 1662 by scientist Christopher Merrit! 3. Dom Perignon, credited with creating Champagne, actually added the big indentation (called a “punt”) which stopped bottles from exploding! 4. In France, Champagne can only be made from 3 “main” grapes! However there are 4 others that can actually be used as well. 5. In Italy, Prosecco and can be made from any of 10 different grapes! 6. In the US, you can make it from whatever the grapes you want, but you can’t call by the name of another appellation. 7. In Spain, Cava is made by the same method as Champagne, where bottles are aged in caves (cavas). 8. The original glass was a rounded “coupe” and not the flute that is commonly used today. 9. At one point Zane Lamprey (that’s me) had the world record for sabering open 31 bottles of Champagne in under one minute! 10. One of the owners of Pasosecco, a new Prosecco-style sparkling wine made in Paso Robles, CA is Seamus Dever, that guy from the TN show Castle (among many other shows)!
Realized I didn’t have any Lions gear. Did the best I could. #golions
Watched game 5 at the Beanery with Edgar Thomas. He’s my classmate, my dear friend, my agent, my confidant and my brother. We talked to the ghosts of the year 2000 over a few bowls of chili and fried pickles. Gonna miss seeing his face on the reg. Classic man.

I’m choosing to believe that this is the same guy from 10 posts ago. He’s about an inch long now. They grow up so fast. No name yet. I usually go with Zorak for Mantids.
Any other Leo Dragons out there? Look out, 2024. I’m coming at you.
