He fled from Cuba, and came to America, with nothing to his name except for the $100 sewn into his underwear.
He didn’t speak English, and he worked as a dishwasher making 50 cents an hour. He paid his way through school, eventually graduating from the University of Texas.
He became a successful entrepreneur and later a pastor.
My dad truly is a shining example of the American dream.
