Tommy Caldwell Instagram – Our @nationalforests are so much wilder and more diverse than most of us can imagine. Last summer in Tongass National Forest in Alaska I had the adventure of a lifetime with some of my best friends. We witnessed groups of whales hunting, rivers so full of salmon you could reach in and grab one, 5000 foot rock spires surrounded by the rumbling and crashing of moving glaciers. These examples just scratch the surface of what we witnessed on our journey to climb the Devil’s Thumb. Not all our wild places are far from home and our National Forests might be out your back door.
