I absolutely love the Olympics! As we speak I’m watching the USA women take China to a 5th set in volleyball. I love it because of how much it matters to these athletes, people who have trained probably every day for years in order to compete at this competition. As much as I love the Olympics, I’m always grateful that it is only every four years because it makes the competition matter so much.
Unlike our marriages, which take place every day, year after year, for the rest of our lives together. This reality can make us take our marriages for granted, move us into the mundane, and not treat our relationship with the care and specialness it deserves.
