Dad, thank you for always loving and believing in me. Thank you for always showing me what it means to follow Jesus, even through difficult times, and even when it requires changing. I couldn’t ask for a better Dad than you! 💙

#MarriageMonday This is embarrassing. While Judah and I were recording our podcast last week, I pretty brutally made fun of him for the birthday present he got me, because the little biker shorts looked like they would be the most unflattering things I could ever put on. BUT I hadn’t actually tried them on yet. So yesterday I actually tried them on and guess what?? They were great! So now comes my least favorite three words to say-I was wrong. Urgh-why is that so hard for me to admit, even over something pretty insignificant? How much more difficult is it to admit over something weightier? But I can guarantee we won’t make it through decades of marriage without being wrong, so do yourself and your spouse a favor and just learn to readily admit when you are wrong. It will end up building a deeper level of trust and intimacy in your relationship. And hopefully you will never have to do it publicly the way I have to today! PS-ladies-would you have thought these shorts were super unflattering? Who wants elastic around their inner thighs?? — In Good Faith is available on all platforms 💜

#MarriageMonday I absolutely love the Olympics! As we speak I’m watching the USA women take China to a 5th set in volleyball. I love it because of how much it matters to these athletes, people who have trained probably every day for years in order to compete at this competition. As much as I love the Olympics, I’m always grateful that it is only every four years because it makes the competition matter so much. Unlike our marriages, which take place every day, year after year, for the rest of our lives together. This reality can make us take our marriages for granted, move us into the mundane, and not treat our relationship with the care and specialness it deserves. Let’s take this simple lesson from the Olympics and think about one specific thing we can do to make our marriages feel special this week!
