Fara Williams Instagram – Former Lioness Fara Williams has teamed up with Nuffield Health for their Move Together campaign, offering free and inclusive exercise classes for girls aged 11-16 (and parents get a free day pass!) Why? Because there’s a desperate need to break down the barriers preventing girls from getting involved in exercise. According to research, 25% less girls say they like PE compared to boys.
‘We experience different things,’ Fara says. ‘Periods are a huge factor… I remember in school if you got hot and sweaty in PE, you weren’t always able to shower after. There’s some barriers around that: you can get bullied for smelling, being dirty, wearing the same clothes.’
