Jade Tailor Instagram – Yesterday was International Day of the Girl. Although I missed it, I for one think it should be celebrated every day.
As I reflect on it… I think about the inner child that lives within all of us. I reflect on her purity and innocence. I reflect on the wisdom she holds, her tenderness, and her innate strength (swipe for reference:). The girl untainted by the sufferings of this world or that which she will learn. I think about what it means to be a girl in this day and age… I think about the young girls fighting for freedom in Iran, and the ones that were killed protesting for such freedom. I think about the little Palestinian and Israeli girls as they grow up in a conflict they never asked for nor wanted who deserve peace.
I think about the little girls that will grow up to be the one in four women to know abuse in their lifetime… but I also think about the girls out there (and within) that will be the change for a better future. I think about the little girl in me that wanted so badly to create that brighter, more loving, and peaceful world. I think about the impact these girls will make and the world we will create free from suffering and oppression. In these faces I see the face of love. I see the face of freedom. I see the face of a bright future. ❤️
