Yesterday was International Day of the Girl. Although I missed it, I for one think it should be celebrated every day. As I reflect on it… I think about the inner child that lives within all of us. I reflect on her purity and innocence. I reflect on the wisdom she holds, her tenderness, and her innate strength (swipe for reference:). The girl untainted by the sufferings of this world or that which she will learn. I think about what it means to be a girl in this day and age… I think about the young girls fighting for freedom in Iran, and the ones that were killed protesting for such freedom. I think about the little Palestinian and Israeli girls as they grow up in a conflict they never asked for nor wanted who deserve peace. I think about the little girls that will grow up to be the one in four women to know abuse in their lifetime… but I also think about the girls out there (and within) that will be the change for a better future. I think about the little girl in me that wanted so badly to create that brighter, more loving, and peaceful world. I think about the impact these girls will make and the world we will create free from suffering and oppression. In these faces I see the face of love. I see the face of freedom. A reminder for the day in case you need it… BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! Easier said than done, I know… Strange that a simple phrase can be so challenging to grasp at times. What does it mean to believe in yourself? How might one do that? It’s hard when we live in a society that doesn’t celebrate us for being one’s self, as if we are meant to fit some invisible/ idealized mold to be deemed accepted in society. Where we hide the truth of who we are or try to change in order to fit it. For what? To fit in where? We are not made like anyone else so why must we continue to try to be like anyone else when we are meant to stand out? When we are created as beautifully unique individuals with 80 trillion unique cells in our bodies. All that said… I think believing in one’s self is being in full celebration of the magic and uniqueness that is all of us. It is a belief in your unique gifts and talents and all of your quirks. Loving both the light and the dark parts of one’s self, knowing that all of it makes up the brilliance and color of you. It is trusting that you are strong and capable of making it through anything. How do I know? Because you’re reading this! So here is a little reminder for you that you are made perfect, whole, and complete just as you are. I believe in you ❤️

Is this what they mean by “Fall Forward?” I think I’m nailing it. 🍁🍂 Jokes aside… I read this yesterday and felt that it was poignant and beautiful so felt like sharing it with all of you… For those who may feel as though they are not “there” yet, or as if there is someone of something in the way of your dreams. “Nothing needs to change in your environment or around to you in order for you to begin to deliberately allow your own connection to the stream of well-being.” It goes on to share examples around being in prison or terminally ill as a means of expressing that we ourselves can create exactly what we want and how we desire to feel. We have all seen or heard of people that are able to mentally and emotionally overcome their circumstances – Nelson Mandela for example! A man who spent over 27 years of his life in prison and went on to be one of the most profound leaders of our time. A simple, yet powerful reminder that the only prison is the one we make for ourselves, the one in our minds. Mandela said, “It is in the character of growth that we should learn from both pleasant and unpleasant experiences.” I use this phrase often… we either win or we learn and either way we win cause we learn. That said, whatever it is that you may be going through might be exactly what you need in order to learn the lessons necessary for you to obtain your dreams. I hope this serves as a reminder that you are in the perfect place, and gives you some semblance of peace in the moments that feel challenging for you. You have more power than you realize my dears. You can create anything you want to feel or experience in this life. All you need do is simply choose ❤️
