Confidence is a state of mind. Although I have been out of my exercise routine and gained around a stone in weight since this time last year, I knew I had this filming to do which required me to be in a swimsuit. Some extra lumps and bumps. Some extra rolls around my tummy. Honestly, I feel like the older I get, the less I give a hoot what anyone thinks and the more I accept myself. That’s not to say I don’t have my own body anxieties, but I figure the best thing we can do is normalise seeing different bodies on social media. The things I do for my job!! LOL! Usually I wouldn’t worry myself with idle chit chat or silly remarks but this one really got to me! The entire team at @aplaceinthesunofficial work so hard so when someone said it was all “fake” I was a bit upset and offended. I’ve spent 20 years of my life working on the show and trust me I wouldn’t be still doing it if it wasn’t real and life-changing. Hundreds of people have bought properties we’ve found for them on the show. The phone calls, reactions, emotions (mine and my house-hunters) are all real. I know most people know this already, because so many people approach me and say how they have been inspired by the programme, but I just wanted to set the record straight.
