Beau Biden passed away 9 years ago today. An incredible public servant and a friend to so many – myself included – Beau’s legacy and influence continue to be felt across Delaware to this day. My heart goes out to all of Beau’s loved ones today, including the entire Biden family.
I was proud to join @senatorcarper and @senatorchriscoons for our annual Delegation Youth Conference today at @delstateuniv. Our young people are the future, and I will be proud to see them become the innovative leaders and dedicated community members that our state and nation need.

This morning, I joined @destatedept Office of Veterans Services’ Memorial Day Service. As we gathered at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, we reflected on those who gave their last full measure of devotion to our country. We are eternally grateful for their sacrifices.

One of our most dedicated advocates for Delawareans aged 50 and older is @aarpdelaware! I was proud to thank State Director Lucretia Young yesterday for her leadership and all the work that AARP DE does across our state to empower older Delawareans.

To combat the mental & behavioral health challenges facing our young people, we need to create a pipeline of professionals equipped to care for them. I’m glad to have secured federal funding for @nemours’ IMPACT Program to train social workers & counselors to do just that.
Who run the world? Nurses! Thanks to the Delaware Nurses Association for meeting with me and my staff today. I’ll continue to advocate for legislation like my National Nursing Workforce Center Act to ensure nurses have the training and support they need.
Today marks 2 years since the horrific school shooting in Uvalde, TX that took the lives of 19 children & 2 teachers. Even through their unimaginable pain, Uvalde families have stood up for commonsense reform. We must do the same and pass legislation to #EndGunViolence.
#MemorialDay is about remembering, reflecting, and honoring the lives and legacies of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. We are forever indebted to them and their service.
The @energycommerce Innovation, Data, and Commerce Subcommittee Markup is underway! We’re discussing the need for legislation to enact federal data privacy standards and to protect kids online. Tune in at energycommerce.house.gov.

Gov. @johncarneyde declared this week as Flood Awareness Week in Delaware! As the lowest-lying state in the nation, Delaware feels the impacts of the climate crisis every day – and is at an increased risk of flooding. See the link in my bio to see how you can get prepared today.
I am pleased that next Wednesday, my office will be hosting a webinar to ensure veterans across our state have access to information on eligibility and benefits through the PACT Act. Sign up on my website to join my office and @vabenefits on 5/29 at 10am: BluntRochester.house.gov
Ensuring that our veterans are cared for is critical. That’s why @jeffvandrew and I are calling on the swift approval of medical leases for the VA centers in Sussex County and Southern New Jersey as called for in @potus’ budget. Read our letter at bluntrochester.house.gov.
The Affordable Connectivity Program has helped connect thousands of Delawareans to affordable, high-speed internet – but it is about to expire. We must extend & expand the ACP so that people in Delaware and across the country can continue to utilize this transformational benefit.
