As the clock counts down on #GE24, I’m sending lots of luck and love to my @thesnp friends across the country. This is the first general election since 2001 that I’ve not been leader or deputy leader of the SNP and first since 1987 that I’ve not been pounding the streets on polling day – so a strange experience. All that said, I could have probably done without the reminder of my first ever election leaflet (sent to me by a ‘friend’ 🤣) 😱

Just watched this. Can’t believe I haven’t seen it before. It’s joyous. Even more so, I can’t believe I didn’t know that Maya visited Dundonald – walking distance from my childhood home – in the 1990s. What I would have given to meet her? The power and beauty of her own words are up there with the best of our Bard. “You may write me down in history With your bitter, twisted lies, You may trod me in the very dirt But still, like dust, I’ll rise.”
