Not mad at having to work on my birthday with this bunch of sweethearts! 🥹 Thank you to each and every one of you for making today such a surreal and special way to celebrate my 🎉3️⃣8️⃣🎉 solar rotations! I stand before you, knowing down deep the Universal Truth that WE. ARE. ALL. EQUALS. So one of the unexpected twists of my life these days is having the opportunity to respond to someone who’s put me on a pedestal by climbing down off of it, taking their hand and climbing back up together…if that serves them. Sometimes folks just really need to believe I’m whoever they’ve constructed in their imagination, and that’s ok too. I respect that their reasons for why are completely valid and not my business. I learned pretty quickly that sometimes the more loving thing to do is to just embody that for a moment. Right after @dctitans released, I remember my Mom and I being so surprised, and even giddy, at how excited some of the fans were with the slightest interaction. I think she said something like “Baby, can you believe how easy it is to just make someone’s day?! How cool is that!” 🥹 This varies depending on the scenario, but if you see that I repost or share things from others often, please know that it’s rarely about self-promotion and always about taking an opportunity to simply help someone feel seen or important…with a few quick clicks, a signature, photo, smile, a meaningful conversation or a hug. My Mama didn’t last 2 minutes at my booth yesterday before she was so tearful that it got awkward. 😆 It’s truly a reciprocal gift that I don’t take for granted. For however long this little flash in the pan lasts, for however long we get to walk this pretty planet, why not seek to enhance love and joy for one another in whatever cooky little corners we can? Thank you, @cscomiccon for all your hard work to curate such a fun weekend for all! Now back to the north country & back to work I go…hi ho hi ho✨

QUARANTINGS: After dodging the big bug for 2,000 years, I just caught the damn thing & spent the past week in lone lockdown. Here’s a stupid little glimpse of the inner workings of a monkey mind. I made good friends with the birds & bees on the roof & caught every sunset. I figured out some new tricks with the robot leg. I learned a new Prine song & solved some finger pickin patterns. Enjoyed the company of dudes hard at work suspended outside the high rise, practiced winking (not at the dudes), FaceTimed with Charlie & many old pals, read books, read some scripts & dominated a new French course on DuoLingo. It was the most not-sick sick I’ve ever been and I count my lucky stars for that. Brain fog was a thing but that could also be normal life. That said, the lasting impact will no doubt be a deep reckoning with what a complete f*cking weirdo I am. Tomorrow I commence work…for 25 days straight (it’s 15 but let me be dramatic)…so ✌🏽. Love every one of you! 🧘🏻♀️

I got to be a part of a spontaneous badass-lady-huddle & group-hug backstage then sang with Willie, Beto & so many loved ones on stage (yes, that’s me trying to invite Beto’s sweet son up closer to the mic)…so there are still some wins to go around. This Sunday I was able to take a gorgeous drive to Side Eye Ranch in Sequin to gather with talented women, in the country home of @jackstevensbasil — this was part of @wift_austin intimate series of “Listening In”. What a privilege it was to hear from @thekatwillis , @savannahwelch , @achando and @jen675309 as they shared stories of auditions, projects, ways to stay motivated (in front of the camera) and then breaking down scenes from a director and line producer POV (behind the camera). Y’all it was magical!! 💫 As only one event with a bunch of supportive women can be. I’m beyond grateful to this organization for bringing us all together and giving us time for connection and collaboration. 🙏🎥💜
