HOW DID 1 YEAR PASS SO QUICKLY!?!?!? Granted the first few months felt like they went on FOREVERRRRR. The night feedings, the sore nipples, the CRAZY hormonal drop, the hair loss, the stitches, the weight gain (and loss). It’s true when they say having a baby is a rollercoaster. But as we now make it over the 1st year, I find myself reflecting on the days and nights I thought were hardest and how, even those, are now just a memory.

When you’re in the thick of things you feel like they never end. But then you keep moving forward because there are more diapers to change, more bottles to clean, more doctors appointments, and before you know it, your baby isn’t a baby anymore. He’s interactive, responsive, funny, grumpy, excitable, strong: he’s basically a little human. And the reality of that is heartbreaking but at the same time, so incredibly beautiful. ❤️

I had soooo many designs saved in Pinterest (😂😂) of things I wanted to do. But in the recent months when my Grandma’s health was deteriorating I knew I wanted something to symbolise her. Since I was born she’s the only grandparent I’ve ever had. 35 years of only THIS Grandma. So I know when she goes she’s going to leave a huge void.

I saw @md.poke ‘s work last years and I’ve been following her on Instagram for a while always in awe of her beautiful and intricate designs. She was gonna be in Singapore for a guest spot at @feather.cloud.tattoo but unfortunately all her slots were snatched up. I still sent her a message just to tell her I was a big fan and I’d love to one day get tattooed by her. She told me she flies of on the 12th of March but she could come into the studio and do a tattoo for me. How on earth could I have said no???? I looked through her flashes and picked this one cause it reminded me of Peranakan tiles (my grandma is Peranakan) I wanted it to be symmetrical because my Grandma has always provided balance for the family, even if she had to raise 9 kids all on her own. The fact that it was a hand poke tattoo and I got to fully experience every single dot of ink into my skin made it 1000% more meaningful (and to answer your question, no, it didn’t hurt very much)

My mum was gonna watch Peanut during my appointment but she had to suddenly go take care of my grandma. I was gonna cancel my appointment reluctantly but the best guy @sohnx (also an artist at @feather.cloud.tattoo ) offered to watch Peanut while I got tattooed.

THIS is the kind of community people talk about. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I loved every part of this experience. And I’m so thankful I get to tell the story every time someone compliments my tattoo.

$Carla Dunareanu Instagram - Thought long and hard about speaking about this but after reading all the DM’s I realise this NEEDS to be talked about. What we think of the Media Industry, that it’s glamorous or whatever, is a small fraction of what actually goes on. I started acting at 12 and unfortunately this isn’t a new issue for me and many others who put themselves out there in the public. Here’s hoping we can be OPEN and HONEST about the things people say and also hold them accountable to it. It’s a long reflection so I’ll split it into a few parts so we also have time to think about it and go a little deeper into the underlying issues and feelings it develops ❤️‍🩹$

Carla Dunareanu Instagram - First trip without baby and it was LIBERATING. Sure, I missed him, but not gonna lie, I absolutely loved being able to FINALLY only think for myself. Eat what I wanted to eat. Leave when I wanted to leave. Everything was based on what I wanted to do. I thought I’d feel major mum guilt but NOPE. I had 7 other girls to laugh, drink and joke with. Leaving baby for a bachelorette trip was definitely the best way for me to experience my first trip without him.

Carla Dunareanu Instagram - Not as easy as it looks, this exercise takes practice and focus.

3 key components that are vital :

1. You must firmly support with your left arm a child that likes to move (the side is up to you but I suggest you workout both for greater dexterity). This is great for your balance and core.
2. You must multi-task so as to ensure the food does not burn and the child does not fall.
3. You must angle your body such that you create ample distance between the fire and your child. Failure to do so will result in an argument with your partner.

Next time you are home-alone with your child but are also required to keep everyone alive with home-cooked food, give this workout a try. Or don’t. Just order in.

Tag your parent friends who need this in their gym rotation. 💪🏻

HOW DID 1 YEAR PASS SO QUICKLY!?!?!? Granted the first few months felt like they went on FOREVERRRRR. The night feedings, the sore nipples, the CRAZY hormonal drop, the hair loss, the stitches, the weight gain (and loss). It’s true when they say having a baby is a rollercoaster. But as we now make it over the 1st year, I find myself reflecting on the days and nights I thought were hardest and how, even those, are now just a memory.

When you’re in the thick of things you feel like they never end. But then you keep moving forward because there are more diapers to change, more bottles to clean, more doctors appointments, and before you know it, your baby isn’t a baby anymore. He’s interactive, responsive, funny, grumpy, excitable, strong: he’s basically a little human. And the reality of that is heartbreaking but at the same time, so incredibly beautiful. ❤️

I had soooo many designs saved in Pinterest (😂😂) of things I wanted to do. But in the recent months when my Grandma’s health was deteriorating I knew I wanted something to symbolise her. Since I was born she’s the only grandparent I’ve ever had. 35 years of only THIS Grandma. So I know when she goes she’s going to leave a huge void.

I saw @md.poke ‘s work last years and I’ve been following her on Instagram for a while always in awe of her beautiful and intricate designs. She was gonna be in Singapore for a guest spot at @feather.cloud.tattoo but unfortunately all her slots were snatched up. I still sent her a message just to tell her I was a big fan and I’d love to one day get tattooed by her. She told me she flies of on the 12th of March but she could come into the studio and do a tattoo for me. How on earth could I have said no???? I looked through her flashes and picked this one cause it reminded me of Peranakan tiles (my grandma is Peranakan) I wanted it to be symmetrical because my Grandma has always provided balance for the family, even if she had to raise 9 kids all on her own. The fact that it was a hand poke tattoo and I got to fully experience every single dot of ink into my skin made it 1000% more meaningful (and to answer your question, no, it didn’t hurt very much)

Carla Dunareanu - 1K Likes - Waited nearly 2 years to finally get new ink! (Pregnancy and first year of breastfeeding)

I had soooo many designs saved in Pinterest (😂😂) of things I wanted to do. But in the recent months when my Grandma’s health was deteriorating I knew I wanted something to symbolise her. Since I was born she’s the only grandparent I’ve ever had. 35 years of only THIS Grandma. So I know when she goes she’s going to leave a huge void.

I saw @md.poke ‘s work last years and I’ve been following her on Instagram for a while always in awe of her beautiful and intricate designs. She was gonna be in Singapore for a guest spot at @feather.cloud.tattoo but unfortunately all her slots were snatched up. I still sent her a message just to tell her I was a big fan and I’d love to one day get tattooed by her. She told me she flies of on the 12th of March but she could come into the studio and do a tattoo for me. How on earth could I have said no???? I looked through her flashes and picked this one cause it reminded me of Peranakan tiles (my grandma is Peranakan) I wanted it to be symmetrical because my Grandma has always provided balance for the family, even if she had to raise 9 kids all on her own. The fact that it was a hand poke tattoo and I got to fully experience every single dot of ink into my skin made it 1000% more meaningful (and to answer your question, no, it didn’t hurt very much)

My mum was gonna watch Peanut during my appointment but she had to suddenly go take care of my grandma. I was gonna cancel my appointment reluctantly but the best guy @sohnx (also an artist at @feather.cloud.tattoo ) offered to watch Peanut while I got tattooed.

THIS is the kind of community people talk about. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I loved every part of this experience. And I’m so thankful I get to tell the story every time someone compliments my tattoo.

What we think of the Media Industry, that it’s glamorous or whatever, is a small fraction of what actually goes on. I started acting at 12 and unfortunately this isn’t a new issue for me and many others who put themselves out there in the public. Here’s hoping we can be OPEN and HONEST about the things people say and also hold them accountable to it. It’s a long reflection so I’ll split it into a few parts so we also have time to think about it and go a little deeper into the underlying issues and feelings it develops ❤️‍🩹$

3 key components that are vital :

1. You must firmly support with your left arm a child that likes to move (the side is up to you but I suggest you workout both for greater dexterity). This is great for your balance and core.
2. You must multi-task so as to ensure the food does not burn and the child does not fall.
3. You must angle your body such that you create ample distance between the fire and your child. Failure to do so will result in an argument with your partner.

Next time you are home-alone with your child but are also required to keep everyone alive with home-cooked food, give this workout a try. Or don’t. Just order in.

Tag your parent friends who need this in their gym rotation. 💪🏻
