Caption : “They’re a part of every memory I have of learning about the world. We share history, DNA, ancestry and futures. And somehow, I still only know parts of them. We’re total individuals and then infinitesimally bonded. It’s pretty special I guess” 🖤 thank you @russhmagazine and @cartier for letting us try put into words what it is to be sisters. Caption : Over the last 11 years, I have self-taped in campervans too small to stand in, hotel room toilets, mice infested huts and national parks with nothing but a set of sheets dangling over my car door whilst hikers gleefully walked past. I’ve taped with siblings, partners, strangers, friends and even alone with nothing but my own voice recorded back at me.. asking me out. Ive had 12 hour turn arounds to learn 24-minute-long scenes and packed up my life faster than you can apply for a visa. Break up scenes, court cases, martial arts demonstrations, hens nights, murder, being murdered, proposals, drug addict, and royal romances are a regular cloaks I don whilst I juggle my own life, bills, house-moves, lockdowns and celebrations. And I love it. Here’s to the countless hours of craft honing we are all doing as actors. To the work few will ever see 📽 🤍 how good.Likes : 842

Caption : 32. Every year is a jump. But this one kicks. This year I drove across the entirety of Australia twice. Once solo. I learnt that friendships without conditions are like oxygen. They’re fundamental to existence. Realized you can get used to anything, so be deliberate in your choices. Like playing music in front of people. Therapy and meditation are the frontline defenses, not medication. A mid-day dance off with Liz in the kitchen is never time wasted. Needing and being needed is fab. You have to be as willing to be kind to yourself, as you are to others or it doesn’t count. It depletes. And that we are mostly, if not entirely, made up of stories. Our job is to challenge each one to the death if they would like to remain. Actual magic lies here. —– This time last year I was sick & asleep on a couch in Perth. And here I am, back in Europe writing from secret Giardinos somewhere in Tuscany and hugging tight old friends in Southbank, nestled in contented silence from a last minute decision. Change is the one thing we can bet on. . Boom. Let’s go for another round then.Likes : 495

Caption : Humbled to be on country. So far I’ve travelled on Wajuk, Balardung, Nyaki-Nyaki, Kalaamay, Wangkathaa, Malpa, Ngatjumay, Mirning, and Wirangu. I pay my deepest respects to these and all lands I am soon to cross. To the traditional custodians, their memories and traditions 🙏 . Having completed the ‘Nullarbore’ leg of the trip, I am now in the land of reception, easily accessible water, fields divied up by fences and food shops. To be so isolated is a rare treat. I very quickly lost track of the time, day, and just wrapped the quiet around me like a heavyweighted blanket. Then with no access to google maps, I just sat on one very straight road for approx 15hrs – or so the internet tells me. What a feast.Likes : 352

Caption : 17.11.22. There is a quiet out here I have not made space for in a very long time – and it is doing things to me. The silence has enveloped me like a magnesium blanket. Sushi rolled in. A burrito with more filling than wrap. Each cell of mine twinkling in thanks. Welcoming the quiet. Alive with it. . . Old diary entry – Day II of crossing country solo. Hungry, apparently.Likes : 277

Caption : The quiet out here. I clutch at it. I want to bottle it up and keep it with me forever. But I know that the quiet of each acreage I have slept on during this trip is not mine to hoard but borrow and wear like a coat I must give back. I know because every place I have stayed has loaned me a different texture of quiet. And you soon learn that quiet can have as many flavours as wines or types of fruit. More probably. And they are all fleeting. By its very nature, no matter what life I lead, the moment of quiet will always be fleeting. All of life is borrowed. So don’t clutch. Let it come. Leave. And come back again soon. I am reminded of the last day at a Vipassana retreat. I observed ten days of noble silence, with nine hours of meditation a day. It was the hardest, most beautiful thing I’d ever done. I sat opposite my meditation teacher, Susan, on my final day. I was crying again. I cried so much in that ten days I learnt how to cry and meditate concurrently. Zen Pro Plus. “How do I keep it?”, I asked her. Confused she looked at me “the Practice?”. “No, the peace. This feeling. The quiet that I have found”. She responded with the answer I wanted the least. “Just one hour – twice a day”. As if internal peace was a sourdough bread recipe, and not the making of de-identifying from every aspect of your life. Undoing stitches in my mind’s eye of fabrics I had been wearing since birth. Righto Susan. —- My friends, followers, countrymen, I am doing my second round of teacher training. I can’t wait to step into this world with anyone even remotely curious. I vow not to make meditation a place of woo woo magic or for only the blessed few who have ‘time’. I believe meditation should be reserved for absolutely everyone. As we all have a basic human right to sit with ourselves and simply be. Treasures lie here. If you hold any curiosity to deepen your relationship with yourself, your sleep, your loved ones, or make some small space for quiet – I’d love to sit beside you at some point. Have a chat. — Susan was right by the way. You can take it with you. Twice a day, in fact.Likes : 244
