Kathleen Edwards Instagram - Still smiling, still playing, still thriving 20 years after my first record came out. A lot of bumps in the road along the way, and undoubtedly more to come. I am so thankful to those of you who have supported meā€¦ my band, my friends, my family, fellow musicians. But especially those of you out there listening to my work, coming to shows, making me feel like my work has meant something to you. Because it means something to me, and there is no greater compliment than knowing it landed out there. Thanks @mikedunnusa for capturing us on camera. ā¤ļø

Kathleen Edwards Instagram - When I was 19, I was working at a coffee shop in Ottawa spending my time writing songs and playing shows.Ā In the following few years those songs evolved into my first album, Failer.Ā Songs formed from my love for songwriting, falling in love with Americana and roots music, finding a place in my local music scene, and living a pretty wild first few years out on my own. 19 years since itā€™s release, the vinyl pressing of Failer has finally been printed.Ā Pre-order at the link up top. It seems strangely fitting that the boxes of freshly pressed vinyl were shipped to my coffee shop in Ottawa, Jim Bryson took the first copy home the day it arrived.Ā ā£ā£
ā£ā£
It wasnā€™t an easy thing to put together.Ā We had to source the music from John Whynot, who originally mixed the record because we couldnā€™t find the original files.Ā We had to have it re-mastered for vinyl by Greg Calbi.Ā We didnā€™t have any of the artwork saved from the original pressings, lost long ago into the abyss of a record companyā€™s restructuring. Colin Cripps approved the new mastered version, and I even found a few boxes of the original CD pressing of FailerĀ from 2002, with different artwork and a different recorded version of 6 Oā€™clock News.Ā Itā€™s been a trip down memory lane (some memories clearer than others), messy and unkempt, but somehow wonderfully true and real.Ā My manager Holly Lowman was instrumental in finding all these pieces and putting them together so this could happen.Ā Ā ā£ā£

Itā€™s pretty insane to think of who I was back then, all the doors it opened for me.Ā Playing my US television debut on the Letterman show the week FailerĀ was released.Ā It still seems surreal that this record took me where it did, and that you all loved it so much.Ā So many people have asked when this album would be available on vinyl, so here it is.Ā As Iā€™ve come to learn, failure is the stuff that makes success so much sweeter.

Kathleen Edwards Instagram - John Lennon must have had a time machine, knowing that a song like this would mean even more to us now than ever. This timeless song ā€œLoveā€ is out today from my forthcoming acoustic EP ā€˜Dogs and Alcoholā€™ featuring acoustic versions of songs from ā€˜Total Freedomā€™.

Kathleen Edwards Instagram - Happy 12th anniversary to my 4th album, Voyageur. It was an album I had such high hopes for, songs Iā€™m very proud of still, but also a very difficult time in my life. I lost my hair, I lost my voice, but gained so much in the long run. I still think ā€œGoing To Hellā€ is the best song on the record and Iā€™ll have to re-record the opening trackā€¦.. ā€œitā€™s not an empty threatā€. āœŒšŸ¼ played Letterman for the last timeā€¦. So many amazing musicians contributed to this album, for which Iā€™m forever thankful.

Kathleen Edwards Instagram - Last night I played before @johnfogerty and got to finally see one of my heroes in concert. Nothing short of a religious experience. He had the whole place on their feet. Every note, every guitar solo, every song was perfect. What a band, what a gift to see John play his songs (and celebrate owning them again!). I am overwhelmed by the magic of it all. His music played such an enduring role in my becoming a songwriter- his work is timeless and so is he. ā¤ļø tremendous gratitude we get to do it all over again tonight in @penguins territory.
Kathleen Edwards Instagram - An extraordinary woman. An extraordinary musician and songwriter. One of my heroes. Her light and grace humbles me. Love you Buffy, thank you for your songs, we donā€™t deserve you.

Kathleen Edwards - 3.4K Likes - When I was 19, I was working at a coffee shop in Ottawa spending my time writing songs and playing shows.Ā In the following few years those songs evolved into my first album, Failer.Ā Songs formed from my love for songwriting, falling in love with Americana and roots music, finding a place in my local music scene, and living a pretty wild first few years out on my own.
Ā ā£ā£
Itā€™s pretty insane to think of who I was back then, all the doors it opened for me.Ā Playing my US television debut on the Letterman show the week FailerĀ was released.Ā It still seems surreal that this record took me where it did, and that you all loved it so much.Ā So many people have asked when this album would be available on vinyl, so here it is.Ā As Iā€™ve come to learn, failure is the stuff that makes success so much sweeter.

Ā ā£ā£
Itā€™s pretty insane to think of who I was back then, all the doors it opened for me.Ā Playing my US television debut on the Letterman show the week FailerĀ was released.Ā It still seems surreal that this record took me where it did, and that you all loved it so much.Ā So many people have asked when this album would be available on vinyl, so here it is.Ā As Iā€™ve come to learn, failure is the stuff that makes success so much sweeter.
