Caption : This past weekend, members of our Transformations’ national advisory board, including Donato Fatuesi, Monica DeJesus Anaya, Amariah Hardwick, Kendall Martinez-Wright, and our Executive Director Merrique Jenson, had a unique chance to participate in the International Trans Day of Visibility, falling on March 31st every year. @dfatuesi @monicabhillz @theeamariah @kendallkanimw @merriquej We attended the Transform the Vote rally hosted in Washington D.C., organized by Trans Equality and featuring dynamic speakers, such as our sisters Angelica Ross, Andrea Jenkins, and Hope Giselle, who grounded us all with their wisdom. We also participated in the evening gathering to connect with our trans siblings and other leaders on the ground. @transequalitynow @angelicaross @shesgotgame1 @hopegiselle We recognize the continued obstacles in place for trans people, in particular trans communities of color, to engage in voting registration and the voting process. And we also recognize how critical this year will be in counting all of our voices within the flawed legislative systems we currently have to make an impact in ensuring trans rights for all. We truly appreciate the dynamic leadership of Sybastian Smith, Alex del Rosario, Josie Caballero, Leroy Thomas, Telka Taylor, Devon Ojeda, and all the dynamic organizers involved with the National Center for Trans Equality working with our Transformations family. One of our sisters was assaulted and experienced violence this weekend at the evening event organized by a separate organization and leadership, and we also deeply appreciate the support and aftercare @transequalitynow had shown us as we navigate this horrific experience and hold those who harmed our sister accountable with intentional transformative justice practices. Always remember to love yourself. Never doubt your path in life, especially when you have set out on your own. When moving from one opportunity to the next, never forget where you come from because that makes you unique! You are transcending, ladies! I am proud of this song, video, and toolkit I helped create with my sisters from Transformations. First and foremost, I hope it helps keep you all safe and alive. Second, let it serve as an affirmation to you and a reminder to lean on the icons, elders, your sisters, and even me for guidance, safety, and guidance on navigating clients. Remember, I always say negotiating prices is negotiating your life! Being a sex worker is not easy; it can be hard and lonely, and I hope you know we got each other as dolls. I want you to live, thrive, and have all those roses while alive! We dolls are made of discipline, determination, consistency, and a rare trait called courage. Never forget that. It is embracing every colorful facet of your identity and celebrating your authentic self unapologetically. In a world that often tries to stifle LGBTQ voices and narratives, finding and reveling in joy is a powerful form of reclaiming agency and dignity. So dance with pride, love fiercely, and shine brightly, for your existence is a beautiful testament to the resilience and strength of the queer community. Embrace your truth, spread love, and let your joy be a beacon of hope for others on their own journeys towards self-acceptance and liberation. Thank you to our incredible leaders for sharing what Queer Joy means for them! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤎🤍🩷🩵 Shoutout to @mollyswhiting and @need_soup at @MMGYglobal for asking us what queer joy means to us as we head into Pride Month! 🎥: @seanblackofficial ❤️ Editor: @merriquejLikes : 221

Caption : 🌹🎶 Exciting News Alert! 🎶🌹 Introducing “A Path of Roses: A S3x Worker Field Guide” for the Dolls, by the Dolls! 🌹👠 Some may wonder why a nonprofit produced a song, music video, and toolkit. Our experience has taught us that many of our sisters, trans women of color, younger girls, and sex workers connect through innovative online social media communication. For many of us, these tools are crucial in learning about our transition, especially when access to other trans women was limited or gender-affirming care was not readily available in our areas. As we think about further developing and innovating ways to reach our priority population, it made sense to create this specific resource to accompany the music video release for #NotASoulCanClock ⏰ Thank you to our very own Monica Beverly Hillz @monicabeverlyhillz, Merrique Jenson @merriquej , Jade Careaga @_slightlyjaded , Mimi Shelton @mimi_d_e_e , Jessica Vixen, and Donato Fatuesi @dfatuesi who were all writers and contributors on this guide 🗺️ Cover Art Design by Whitney Manney @whitneymanney 💖 Check out the Full Guide, link in bio! Today, we’re proud to release our 20-page Impact Report, documenting a year of resilience, creativity, and trans power across Missouri, Kansas, NW Arkansas, and the Ozarks. 💥🏳️⚧️ Led by trans women of color, Transformations emerged in 2016 in response to the epidemic of violence targeting Black and Brown trans femmes. We’ve always fought back—with strategy, with art, and with community. 🖤 From the frontlines to the page, our 2024 Impact Report reflects the deep shifts we faced—including a $250,000 shortfall from failed philanthropic promises that forced us to delay Liberation Camp, our flagship leadership program. In the words of our ED, Merrique Jenson: “Despite the financial losses and the shifting priorities of funders, Transformations innovated, adapted, and refused to be erased. When resources were scarce, we leaned into our creativity. 2024 proved we are not just organizers—we are artists, cultural strategists, and movement-builders.” 🌹 This year we: ✔️ Launched Path of Roses, a groundbreaking cultural strategy project with Monica Beverly Hillz blending organizing, art & music ✔️ Helped lead the first Eureka Springs Trans Family Pride ✔️ Grew our National Community Advisory Board ✔️ Doubled down on joy, safety & visibility for trans girls of color This report was written by our 2024 CAB Chair Donato Fatuesi, with contributions from Merrique Jenson (ED), Jade Careaga & Jaron Goto (CAB Leaders), and Susie McClannahan (Board Chair). 📲 Tap the link in bio to read the full report now. Caption : Be sure to check out our new “A Path of Roses” – link in @kctransformations bio. And consider supporting this life-saving work for trans women of color, those engaged in survival work and trans communities in the Midwest and Ozarks. Some may wonder why a nonprofit produced a song, music video, and toolkit. Our experience has taught us that many of our sisters, trans women of color, younger girls, and sex workers connect through innovative online social media communication. For many of us, these tools were crucial in learning about our transition, especially when access to other trans women was limited or gender-affirming care was not readily available in our areas. At @kctransformations – we are audacious in our efforts to support our fellow sisters by providing them with a platform for open and direct communication, as well as connecting sex workers within the community. We understand that many trans women of color may have to turn to sex work as a means of survival, dependence, or even by choice. Rather than avoiding these discussions, we aim to confront these issues and offer genuine dialogue, harm-reduction practices, and non-judgmental support to all. We are thrilled to have collaborated with Monica on this project. Our executive director @merriquej is also an artist and executive producer with this song and video, and our team has been involved in every stage of this campaign. We couldn’t be prouder of Monica, our Transformations family, and the women who’ve contributed to this campaign by embracing our wisdom and beauty and showing love to our sisters.
