Bryan Cranston Instagram – Ever been to Western Canada? It’s absolutely stunning. From the metropolitan setting of the vibrant Vancouver, to the Wild West town of Calgary, and all the magnificent scenery of the Canadian National Parks in between. Come along for a little arm-chair traveling with my wife, Robin and I, as I document our journey over the next few days to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary…
Our first stop was actually not in Canada. Traveling has its rewards but also its challenges. Our flight out of LA to Vancouver was delayed for over 8 hours! So, we pivoted and took the next available flight to Seattle instead. We booked a room at the grand, historic Fairmont Olympic Hotel.
Walking distance to the famous Pike Place Market (where they throw the fish… google that), and the home of the original Starbucks Coffee shop.
The restaurant staff in the hotel had a framed photo from our wedding day on our table… a really sweet gesture – man, we were so young. The food was great too.
Since we were in Seattle instead of Vancouver – we took a Sea Plane the next morning to the Canadian city… what fun that is.
While at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, the staff placed a bottle of champagne and a personalized chocolate treat for when we arrived in the beautiful room. It really is our anniversary trip… but if it wasn’t, would it be so wrong to fib and say it was?! Who am I to judge? I saw a couple things there at the hotel that I’d never seen before…
Tomorrow it’s on to Jasper by train… We’ll continue the journey then.
